Our beginnings are humble and foundational to who we are neighbours helping neighbours.
Until 2014, we knew of our neighbours but did not truly know them. Many of us would see each other and casually greet each other but never sat together to break bread or learn about one another’s situation, story, or struggle. It was then, few of us decided we needed to transform our neighbourhood into brotherhood.We rented a room that would later become ‘CRC House’ and set a weekly meeting time. Each one of us would bring light refreshments and simply one objective in mind: to get to know one another on a deeper level and find ways to connect our neighbours. Striving for social cohesion locally to strengthen each other and create a support network was the primary drive for our ”Behtak” (Sitting), which would later become CRC Markham.
